Is QRaten free?
Yes. QRaten has a permanent free plan for students and members who only need to record attendance. Institutions can also access a free Pro trial for a limited time, with full platform access. When the trial ends, they can contact QRaten to extend it or receive a tailored proposal.
Does it work on Android, iPhone and desktop?
Yes. QRaten works as a Progressive Web App (PWA), so it can be used and installed from the browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and Linux. No App Store or Google Play is required. It opens like an app and behaves like an app.
How does offline mode work?
QRaten is designed to keep working even without a connection. QR or code attendance can be validated without internet, even in airplane mode, thanks to the TOTP algorithm, which generates secure temporary codes. When the device reconnects, pending information syncs automatically.
How does data sync work?
Simple: what you do without a connection is saved on the device first and queued for upload. When internet returns, QRaten syncs those changes with the server automatically, in an orderly and secure way — no action needed on your side.
How does the attendance system work?
The teacher creates the class and the student records attendance by scanning a QR code or entering a time-limited code. The process is fast, easy to use and leaves an immediate record of date, time and status.
Can I manage multiple courses or sub-courses?
Yes. QRaten lets you organise multiple courses, sub-courses, subjects and academic structures within the same institution. Everything is centralised, but each space can be managed independently.
How secure is QRaten?
QRaten is designed to minimise fraud and misuse. The session is tied to the device, preventing a student from logging in on another device to record attendance for someone else. It also uses role-based permissions, temporary codes and validations during sync. No system is completely infallible, but QRaten is built to be highly resistant to the most common misuse cases.
What does the Pro trial include?
The Pro trial includes full access to institutional features so you can evaluate QRaten in a real environment. If you need more time or a specific implementation, you can contact QRaten to extend the trial or design a custom solution.
